July 16 AP 197– Being able to scoop up my boy late at night and cuddle and talk with him until we fall asleep.

July 17 AP 198– A good experience at Indianapolis Museum of Art. I’m pretty sure that was the first time I’d ever seen Monet, Rembrandt, O’Keeffe, and Van Gogh paintings in person.  I’ve always been drawn to Van Gogh, but this time I got to examine all of the textures and color effects up close.  Awesome.  Just awesome.  And I also learned about other painters I’d never heard of, having never taken any sort of art class or researched on my own…  like Pissarro and Seurat.  Yeah, you know that really famous pointillism painting- A Sunday Afternoon something or another- with all the 1800’s ladies with umbrellas and other folks lounging by the water?  I never knew that was Seurat…  and that he kicked off the whole Neo-Impressionism movement.

July 18 AP 199– My new bible and bible case. I did without carrying a bible around for a long time (um… 15 years), but I decided I wanted to take advantage of every opportunity to study and learn more, so I invested.  Aaaaand I love it.  I mean, I’ve always had my big clunky bibles at home, and I used my Droid Bible App for a long time, but there’s something about actually having it in my hands and turning the pages…  I don’t know- maybe it’s that I grew up in the ’90’s.

July 19 AP 200–  The book of Job: “My redeemer lives!”. This Sunday at church our worship music leader talked about the book of Job.  I LOVE thinking about the book of Job.  I know I’ve journaled about it before.  Job was a righteous man who God had blessed, and Satan questions Job’s character and faith and God is all, “alright- I’ll back off of Job and you can do what you’d like and I know Job will still be faithful.”  And, well, all this terrible, terrible stuff happens to Job.  Job indeed stays faithful to God while his friends sit around and try to figure out the reason for all his misfortune…  and in chapter 19 Job says, “I know my redeemer lives! And in the end he will stand upon the earth.  And after my skin has been destroyed , yet in my flesh I will see God!”

And my FAVORITE part is when God finally speaks up and he is all, “What’s up with all of these people who have no idea what they are talking about?  I will question YOU and YOU will answer ME!  Who marked off the Earth’s dimensions?  Surely you know!  Have the gates of death been shown to YOU?  Have you comprehended the vast expanses of the Earth?  Tell me if you know all this! Surely you do know because you were already born!  You’ve lived so many years!”

God is awesome.

Who taught the sun where to stand in the morning?
And who told the ocean you can only come this far?
And who showed the moon where to hide till evening?
Whose words alone can catch a falling star?

Well I know my Redeemer lives
I know my Redeemer lives
All of creation testifies
This life within me cries
I know my Redeemer lives

The very same God
That spins things in orbit
Runs to the weary, the worn and the weak
And the same gentle hands that hold me when I’m broken
They conquered death to bring me victory

Now I know, my Redeemer lives
I know my Redeemer lives
Let all creation testify
Let this life within me cry
I-I-I know
My Redeemer

He lives
To take away my shame
And He lives
Forever I’ll proclaim
That the payment for my sins
Was the precious life He gave
And now He’s alive and
There’s an empty
